KJV : Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
YLT : also heretofore, in Saul`s being king over us, thou hast been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah saith to thee, Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art for leader over Israel.`

ERVEN : Even when Saul was our king, you were the one who led us into battle. And you were the one who brought Israel back home from war. The Lord himself said to you, 'You will be the shepherd of my people, the Israelites. You will be the ruler over Israel.'"

BNV : তাই ইস্রায়েলের নেতারা রাজা দায়ূদের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে হিব্রোণে এলেন| রাজা দায়ূদ প্রভুর সামনে, সেই নেতাদের সঙ্গে একটা চুক্তি করলেন| তারপর ঐ নেতারা দায়ূদকে ইস্রায়েলের রাজারূপে অভিষিক্ত করলেন|

KJV : And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

ERVEN : The king and his men went to fight against the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. The Jebusites said to David, "You cannot come into our city. Even our blind and crippled people can stop you." (They said this because they thought that David would not be able to enter into their city.

BNV : সেইদিন দায়ূদ তাঁর সঙ্গীদের বললেন, “যদি তোমরা যিবুষীয়দের হারাতে চাও তবে জলের সুড়ঙ্গপথ দিয়ে সেই সব ‘পঙ্গু ও অন্ধ’ শত্রুদের কাছে পৌঁছে যাও|”এই জন্যে লোক বলে, “অন্ধ ও পঙ্গুরা মন্দিরে ঢুকতে পারে না|”
KJV : And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, [that are] hated of David’s soul, [he shall be chief and captain.] Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
YLT : And David saith on that day, `Any one smiting the Jebusite, (let him go up by the watercourse), and the lame and the blind -- the hated of David`s soul,` -- because the blind and lame say, `He doth not come into the house.`

ERVEN : That day David said to his men, "Whenever you strike at a Jebusite, aim for the throat." David said this because he hates to see people crippled and blinded. That is why people say, "The lame and blind are not allowed in the temple. "

BNV : দায়ূদ সেই দুর্গে বাস করতে লাগলেন এবং সেই শহরকে “দায়ূদের শহর” বললেন| দায়ূদ মিল্লো নামে একটি অঞ্চল নির্মাণ করলেন| তিনি শহরের মধ্যে আরও অনেক বাড়ী তৈরী করলেন|

BNV : তখন দায়ূদ বুঝতে পারলেন, যে প্রভু সত্যিসত্যিই তাঁকে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা করেছেন এবং তাঁর রাজ্যকে (দায়ূদের রাজ্যকে), তাঁর লোকদের, ইস্রায়েলীয়দের জন্য উন্নীত করেছেন|
KJV : And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.

BNV : পলেষ্টীয়রা শুনল যে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা দায়ূদকে তাদের রাজারূপে অভিষিক্ত করেছে| সেইজন্য পলেষ্টীয়রা দায়ূদকে হত্যা করবার জন্য খুঁজে বেড়াতে লাগল| দায়ূদ তা জানতে পেরে জেরুশালেমের দুর্গের মধ্যে চলে গেলেন|
KJV : But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard [of it,] and went down to the hold.

BNV : দায়ূদ প্রভুকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমি কি পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে যাব? পলেষ্টীয়দের হারাতে আপনি কি আমায় সাহায্য করবেন?”প্রভু দায়ূদকে উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ, পলেষ্টীয়দের হারাতে আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাকে সাহায্য করব|”
KJV : And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
YLT : And David asketh of Jehovah, saying, `Do I go up unto the Philistines? dost Thou give them into my hand?` And Jehovah saith unto David, `Go up, for I certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.`

ESV : And David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?" And the LORD said to David, "Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand."
ERVEN : David asked the Lord, saying, "Should I go up to fight against the Philistines? Will you help me defeat them?" The Lord answered, "Yes, I certainly will help you defeat the Philistines."

BNV : তখন দায়ূদ বাল পরাসীমে গিয়ে সেই জায়গায় পলেষ্টীয়দের পরাজিত করলেন| দায়ূদ বললেন, “প্রভু আমার শত্রুদের ঠিক তেমন ভাবেই ভেদ করলেন যেমন ভাবে বন্যার জল একটি বাঁধের মধ্যে দিয়ে সবলে পথ করে বেরিয়ে যায়|” এই কারণে দায়ূদ এই জায়গার নাম “বাল পরাসীম” রাখলেন|
KJV : And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
YLT : And David cometh in to Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and saith, `Jehovah hath broken forth [on] mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters;` therefore he hath called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.
RV : And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, The LORD hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
RSV : And David came to Baalperazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a bursting flood." Therefore the name of that place is called Baalperazim.

ESV : And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there. And he said, "The LORD has burst through my enemies before me like a bursting flood." Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.
ERVEN : Then David went to Baal Perazim and defeated the Philistines in that place. He said, "The Lord broke through my enemies like water breaking through a dam." That is why David named that place "Baal Perazim."

BNV : দায়ূদ প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন| এবারে প্রভু দায়ূদকে বললেন, “ওখানে যেও না| তুমি ওদের সৈন্যবাহিনীর পিছন দিকে যাও| তুমি বালসাম গাছের উল্টো দিক থেকে ওদের আক্রমণ কর|
KJV : And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; [but] fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
YLT : and David asketh of Jehovah, and He saith, `Thou dost not go up, turn round unto their rear, and thou hast come to them over-against the mulberries,
RV : And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up: make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

ERVEN : David prayed to the Lord. This time the Lord told him, "Don't go up the valley. Go around them to the other side of their army. Attack them from the other side of the balsam trees.

BNV : বালসাম গাছগুলোর ওপর থেকে তোমরা পলেষ্টীয়দের যুদ্ধ ক্ষেত্রে যাবার কুচকাওযাজের শব্দ শুনতে পাবে| সেই সময় তোমরা তাড়াতাড়ি করবে, কারণ সেই সময় তোমাদের জন্য পলেষ্টীয়দের পরাজিত করতে প্রভু তোমাদের সামনে সামনে যাবেন|”
KJV : And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, in thy hearing the sound of a stepping in the tops of the mulberries, then thou dost move sharply, for then hath Jehovah gone out before thee to smite in the camp of the Philistines.`
RV : And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then is the LORD gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
RSV : And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then bestir yourself; for then the LORD has gone out before you to smite the army of the Philistines."

ESV : And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the LORD has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines."
ERVEN : When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, you must act quickly because that is the sign that the Lord has gone out in front of you to defeat the Philistines. "
